The life of your “Dreams”
Have you ever felt the lines a of dream and reality blur?
Have you ever dreamt something so vividly you swore you could taste it?
I am a dreamer, I must confess, the enigmatic world that unfolds for me each night has always been an important part of my human experience. From the synth pop music that I adore to my favourite film maker the iconic David Lynch, a scroll through my Instagram account will depict my attraction to a rather dreamy aesthetic. Let’s put it this way if I were attending Hogwarts, Luna Lovegood would be my emotional support animal. Despite being a powerful dreamer, I mostly left the dream stuff in the bedroom where I thought it belonged. That is until last year when I had a monumental dream that not only blurred those lines, but also led me to a spectacular experience. But this post is not about THAT dream, to read about THAT dream you will have to go back to my very first post. This is about what happened when I finally decided to write about that experience, and how I met someone who would show me that it is indeed possible to live the life of your “dreams”.
Enter Lana Sackwild, Lucid Dream Coach and kickass entrepreneur
I originally met Lana last April on a social media platform called Clubhouse (more on Clubhouse in my next post). I had popped into a virtual lucid dream room that my friend Jennifer Claroscura was moderating in. While I was listening, I happened to be at this beautiful park during the golden hour and I was filming the light radiating through the Garry Oak trees. To my surprise my phone captured all the audio from the Clubhouse room with my visuals. Since it was International Lucid Dream day I decided to make a dreamy video out of the footage. I gifted it to Jennifer, a person whose artistry and aesthetic I deeply admire, and she shared it on her social media platforms. Needless to say I got one or two new friend requests and one of them was Lana. We exchanged a few polite comments, but nothing more. I was super stoked to have a couple of new and inspirational dreamers to follow. This was about one month after my watershed dream and I was interested in dipping my toe in the lucid dream community pool.
Fast forward six months, it had been a crazy year for me one that was both magical and especially difficult. I had faced a relentless parade of my shadows and the universe kept coming back for more. Come to think of it, it’s likely precisely my willingness to go into the shadow that made the magic happen, but more about that in a future post. I finally decided enough was enough, I was going to sit down and write about my epic dream and the marvellous events that followed. I sat down, pushed myself to figure out how the blog formatting worked on my site and began to write. Just as I was getting rolling I got a ping in my Instagram dms from, of all people, Lana. She thanked me for commenting on a recent post and sent me the full video to check out. It seemed like divine timing and perhaps it could be a motivational boost to keep me writing. You see I was feeling slightly anxious to share the story of my dream. Although I had spoken about it freely to friends, I wasn’t sure I wanted to reveal too much of this side of me on my professional website. I watched Lana’s video and immediately sent her a voice text letting her know all the points that I appreciated. Here was a strong confident woman speaking about using dreams in a way I never knew possible, in a way that was both grounded and innovative. I was intrigued so I decided to share with her what I was writing about. Lana was not only encouraging, but totally excited for me and our correspondence over the next few days was electric. I could feel her energy and drive through her messages and I was intrigued to find out just how she had turned the master key in her life. I jumped at the chance to get onto a discovery call with her and I took that call very seriously. I was prepared with a page of notes and questions and Lana’s responses did not disappoint.
Cue the Fireworks…..
Ok, so maybe that’s a little hyperbolic, but not much. My conversation with Lana was illuminating, it was like she had sprinkled some magic pixie dust on me. There was no question that I would sign up for her program; The Lucid Entrepreneur Lab". I hadn’t been a “heck yes” for something in a long time and I felt completely lit up. The week following our call saw me creating a business plan, reaching out to a big time prospect (which I landed a meeting with) , finishing two blogs, expanding my leadership coaching program, recreating my Linkedin profile and so much more. What I realized from that call was that I no longer had to leave my dreams in the bedroom, my dreams were my most valuable creative asset. I immediately created a routine where I got up at 4:30 am to meditate and then hopped back into bed to see where my lucidity would take me. And boy did it ever take me. Not only was my creativity on fire, but my day to day responsibilities seemed easier to tackle. My process had become seamless and I was waking up with more energy than ever, excited to implement the ideas I had literally been dreaming about for the past few years.
Inspired by what I had been able to accomplish, I invited Lana onto an Instagram Live session which I affectionately call my “Flow Jam” sessions. I had thought of the idea in August, but unfortunately the first session I did happened on the day my father passed away, so the project stalled. My idea was to cultivate inspiring conversations with genius creators, healers, coaches and entrepreneurs who are thinking outside of the regularly scheduled “programming”. These are folx who I see as living my favourite motto “Time is Art” vs “Time is Money” and as a consequence they are not only creating incredible flow but absolute masterpieces with their lives. What better way to get it started again than with a firecracker like Lana.
Our session was everything I had hoped for and more, but that was no surprise because I knew from my first meeting with Lana that we had incredible synergy. This is exactly what someone needs to look for in a coach and mentor. I have been a coach for a long time and while it is a profession that I deeply believe in, I know in my heart in order to be transformational I need to have the confidence and knowledge to hack mine and my clients subconscious. Lana’s lab and system does just that. It’s like she jokingly quipped in our session “My clients feel like they are cheating at life” they just manifest with joyous ease.
Lana is building a community of dreamers who are busting through their blocks and bursting with their unique gifts and talents. She is unlocking the mysterious subconscious for herself and others and coolest part is people are actualizing this in their waking life every single day. It is a gross understatement to say that I am thrilled to be joining The Lucid Entrepreneur Lab in January and will be an official member of Lana’s lucid family.
